Onion Buys Infowars plus what's happening with the Free Streamers and Radio 1's new station
Jim Waterson, Chloe Straw and Jane Ostler join Matt Deegan
As we were recording this week, the news popped up that satirical news site, The Onion, had bought Infowars - the conspiracy peddling site run by Alex Jones. It’s one of the oddest media takeover that we’ve had to talk about on the show.
Speaking of new media, Jim Waterson, previously The Guardian’s media editor, joins to talk about the news this week, plus his own, the launch of London Centric, a news site for London.
Also on the podcast, Kantar Media’s Jane Ostler is here and we cover the rise in ad-funded streaming services and the X-odus from Twitter to Bluesky (by the way, you can follow our contributors on Bluesky here).
We also cover the launch of the new BBC Radio 1 Anthems and changes in the audio sector with Chloe Straw, the MD at Audio UK.
