Who’s Buying? Commissioners and Super-Indies in the Spotlight
Steven D. Wright and Chloe Straw join Matt Deegan
There’s been lots of indie chatter this week. We talk about the super-indies pausing spending on new acquisitions, whilst ITV merges Potato and 12 Yards into a new entertainment label under recent entertainment commissioning boss Lily Wilson and Tom Williams from TalkbackThames. TV producer Steven D. Wright isn’t entirely convinced.
The CEO of Audio UK, Chloe Straw gives us her take on Amazon’s decision to split Wondery between Audible and Amazon Music plus we hear an update on their campaign to get audio recognised by the Government’s Creative Industries Taskforce.
We also discuss whether Destination X is unfairly maligned and if the return of Education Yorkshire is a good thing or not.
